Background of the Study

Digital transformation has become a critical driver of innovation and efficiency in human resource management (HRM). Technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and human resource information systems (HRIS) have revolutionized recruitment, employee engagement, and performance management (Okafor & Abubakar, 2023).

HR firms in Kogi State are gradually adopting digital transformation to address traditional HR challenges, including inefficiencies in talent acquisition, data management, and employee performance tracking. However, the level of adoption and its impact on HR practices remain underexplored.

This study examines how digital transformation influences HRM processes in Kogi State, highlighting the benefits and challenges associated with technology adoption in HR firms.

Statement of the Problem

Despite the potential benefits of digital transformation in HRM, many HR firms in Kogi State face challenges such as limited technical expertise, resistance to change, and inadequate infrastructure. These challenges hinder their ability to fully leverage digital tools for improved decision-making and employee satisfaction.

The lack of empirical data on the adoption and impact of digital transformation in HRM in Kogi State further complicates efforts to address these issues. This study aims to fill this gap by evaluating the role of digital transformation in HR practices.

Objectives of the Study

1. To examine the extent of digital transformation adoption in HR firms in Kogi State.

2. To assess the impact of digital transformation on HRM efficiency and effectiveness.

3. To identify challenges hindering digital transformation in HR firms and propose solutions.

Research Questions

1. To what extent have HR firms in Kogi State adopted digital transformation?

2. How does digital transformation impact HRM efficiency and effectiveness?

3. What challenges do HR firms face in adopting digital transformation, and how can they be addressed?

Research Hypotheses

1. HR firms in Kogi State have not significantly adopted digital transformation.

2. Digital transformation does not significantly impact HRM efficiency and effectiveness.

3. The challenges of digital transformation adoption have no significant solutions.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This study focuses on HR firms in Kogi State, evaluating their digital transformation efforts and challenges. Limitations include differences in technology adoption levels across firms and limited access to proprietary HR data.
